DAYTON, Ohio - The first-place University of Dayton softball team is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this weekend for a three-game series against conference foe Saint Joseph's. The series begins Saturday with a doubleheader set for a noon first pitch. The series concludes Sunday with a single game that is also set for noon. Â
Recent ActionThe Flyers have a 25-11 record and are leading the A-10 with a 9-2 mark. Â They are coming off a series victory, taking two of three from the preseason favorite Fordham Rams. Dayton swept a Saturday doubleheader, winning 5-1 and 8-0.
Saint Joseph's enters the game with a 20-9 record overall and are third in the conference at 6-2. Their last series was against George Mason where they lost two of three.
Series StuffDayton is 11-28 all-time against the Hawks. Â They split the regular season series 1-1 last season, while SJU defeated UD in the A-10 Tournament.

Scouting ReportSJU ranks tops in the conference in numerous categories including batting average (.335), fielding percentage (.976), on-base and slugging percentage (.424/.546), and scoring (7.28). Â They are led on offense by Sarah Yoos, who hits for a .459 mark, which is second in the conference, as well as Ashley Alden who leads the team in homeruns and RBI with 10 and 36 respectively.
In the cirlce, SJU is led by Madison Clarke who sports a 2.71 ERA with 15 wins and 50 strikeouts.

Cara LaPlaca reached the 20-win milestone for her sixth time at UD, and her fifth season in a row. Â LaPlaca is now looking to break her record for most wins in a season at UD with 27 (2014). Â The overall record for most wins in a season is 35 (2000).
300 ClubWith the 8-0 victory over the Fordham Rams on April 4, LaPlaca earned her 300th career victory. Â It was her 169th at Dayton. Â She earned 131 victories while head coach at her alma mater Clarke College.
Top TossersThis season the UD pitching staff leads the Atlantic 10 in ERA with a 2.45 mark, which is good for 33rd in the country. Â The staff is led by
Kayla English who is tops in the A-10 with a 1.69 ERA (36th nationally). Â
Manda Cash ranks second in the conference with a 1.91 ERA (52nd nationally). Â English also ranks first in the conference in hits per seven innings (3.71, 9th nationally), shutouts (6, 8th nationally), while Cash is tops in strikeouts per seven innings (9.4, 18th nationally) and is second in the conference (7th nationally) in saves with four.
