BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The University of Dayton men's golf team wrapped its final regular-season tournament with a 12th-place finish at Indiana's NYX Hoosier Invitational Monday afternoon. The Flyers turned in rounds of 295-290-299 for a 32-over-par total of 884, UD's lowest three-round total of the season. Senior
George Rohde, III, led Dayton with 71-71-75=217 (+4) to finish tied for 17th place among 89 competitors.
The 54-hole event was played at IU Golf Course with par of 71 and yardage of 6,813.
Wisconsin took home the team title with rounds of 286-279-288=853 as the Badgers finished one over par as a squad. Xavier's Jose Montano claimed medalist honors with his score of 71-67-69=207 (-6).
Also for Dayton, sophomore
Nick Paxson finished tied for 30th place after turning in a score of 72-72-75=219 (+6) while freshman
Brendan Keating tied for 43rd overall with a 76-73-74=223 (+10). Junior
Thomas Goss carded rounds of 76, 74 and 75 for a 12-over-par total of 225 as he tied for 50th place and junior
Matt Fazio turned in a score of 77-74-76=227 (+14) to tie for 60th place.
The Flyers will have a week off before heading south to Orlando, Florida. The 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship will be held at Harmony Golf Preserve April 24-26.
