DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team faced the University of Toledo Tuesday and completed the season sweep with a 3-0 win over the Rockets.
Sophomore
Matt Poland opened up the scoring for the Flyers in the bottom of the second with a solo home run to left, his first of the season.
Dayton added to its advantage in the seventh with a two-run double to left by sophomore
Cale Dineen, making it a 3-0 contest.
Junior
Ben Polansky made the first start of his Dayton career and pitched a gem, allowing no runs on just three hits while striking out four in the complete game effort.
Poland led the way for UD with a 3-for-3 outing, an RBI and two runs scored with Dineen adding the insurance runs in the seventh.
The Flyers (10-24) will stay at home on Wednesday to host Akron at 4 p.m.
