HARMONY, Fla. - Highlighted by two Flyer eagles on the 14th hole, the University of Dayton men's golf team is tied for fourth place after two rounds of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship. Dayton's score of 289-293=582 (+6) is just two shots out of third place and 10 off first-place VCU. Sophomore
Nick Paxson continues to lead the Flyers and is tied for sixth place with rounds of 70 and 72 (142, -2). The three-day event is being held at the Harmony Golf Preserve and the course is being played at par 72 and 7,106 yards.
VCU leads the team standings at four-under-par with consecutive rounds of 286 (572). The Rams' Adam Ball is in first place among 55 competitors with his score of 66-68=134 (-10).
Paxson has carded a total of 10 birdies for the tournament, the most of any Flyer. Junior
Thomas Goss has posted the squad's second-lowest total through 36 holes and is tied for 15th place with his score of 72-73=145 (+1) and was one of two Flyers to record an eagle on the 14th hole today. Freshman
Brendan Keating is tied for 21st place with rounds of 73 and 74 for a three-over-par 147.
The second Flyer eagle of the day was carded by junior
Matt Fazio who is currently tied for 26th place in individual standings. He has fired back-to-back rounds of 74 for a 36-hole total of 148 (+4). Senior
George Rohde, III turned in three birdies on day two of the championship and is tied for 30th place with his score of 74-75=149 (+5).
