DAYTON, Ohio - After two rounds, the University of Dayton men's golf team is in a tie for fifth place (296-308=604, +36) at the Wright State Collegiate. The two-day event is being held at at Miami Valley Golf Club and the course is being played at par 71 and 6,705 yards. Junior
Thomas Goss.leads the Flyers with his 36-hole total of five-over-par 147 (74-73) and is tied for 10th place out of 64 participants.
Northern Kentucky leads the team standings with rounds of 293 and 289 to sit at 14-over-par (582). Wright State's Nicholas Scott leads the field with his two-round total of 140 (-2), including a tournament-low round of 67 on the second 18.
Freshman
Brendan Keating is one stroke behind Goss after firing rounds of 71 and 77 (148, +6) and is tied for 12th place for the Flyers. Sophomore
Nick Paxson carded scores of 74 and 78 for a total of 152 (+10) to sit tied for 22nd while senior
George Rohde, III is tied for 48th overall after rounds of 77-80=157 (+15).
Rounding out the Dayton five-man team is freshman
Phillip Johnson with a two-round score of 158 (77-81) and is tied for 50th at 16-over-par.
Playing as individuals are junior
Matt Fazio (75-76=151) who is tied for 20th place at nine-over-par, sophomore
Kevin Wargo who fired rounds of 74 and 82 (156, +14) to tie for 43rd and senior
Craig Purpus who is tied for 58th place with back-to-back rounds of 82 (162, +20).
The final round of the Wright State Collegiate will tee off at 10:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.
