Box Score 4 DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's and women's tennis teams defeated St. Bonaventure and Saint Francis (PA) this weekend to bring in 4 big road victories for the Flyer tennis program.
On Thursday, April 2, the Flyers traveled to Olean, N.Y. to take on St. Bonaventure in their first Atlantic 10 conference matches of the season. The men's team won quickly in the No. 2 and 3 spots of doubles to earn the point. They continued to dominate going into singles play and beat the Bonnies in straight sets in all 6 singles matches. The Flyer men defeated St. Bonaventure in an impressive 7-0 sweep.

After an exciting men's match, UD's women's team was eager to take on St. Bonaventure. The Flyer women started strong in doubles play and earned the point quickly. Heading into singles play, the women won easily in straight sets in the No. 3, 4 and 5 spots. UD defeated the Bonnies in a quick 5-2 victory, making both team's trips to St. Bonaventure very successful.

With the momentum from their two road wins at St. Bonaventure, the Dayton tennis teams traveled to Saint Francis on Friday, April 3 to take on the SFU tennis teams on their Senior Day. The duos of Berry/Fisher and Malyon/Sanson picked up wins for the Flyers during doubles play to earn the Flyers the doubles point. Dayton defeated SFU in the No. 2, 4, 5 and 6 spots of singles competition, leading the Flyer men to a 5-2 victory over the Flash.
Zach Berry's victory in the No. 2 spot was his 23rd win of the season, which set a record for the most wins in one season by any freshman in UD tennis history.

During the women's match, Townsend/Kawamoto and Peck/Shepherd earned the doubles point for UD after picking up wins in the No. 2 and 3 spots. The Flyers played a couple of close matches during singles, but pulled off wins in the No. 1, 3, 4 and 5 spots. UD's women's team finished the match on top with a 5-2 victory over Saint Francis.

These wins bring the women to an 8-7 overall record and the men have an 8-8 overall record so far this season. Up next, both teams will take on Duquesne University on Sunday, April 12 beginning at 11am at the Graul Tennis Center. The Duquesne men are currently 9-5 overall and the women are 9-8. These matches will be the second Atlantic 10 conference matches of the season for the Flyers.
