DAYTON, Ohio - In its first home matches of the season, the Dayton volleyball team will host the Dayton Invitational Sept. 11-12. The two-day event features Baylor, Cleveland State and Eastern Illinois in addition to UD. The Flyers are coming off a first-place finish at the Saluki Invitational, and are looking forward to returning to the friendly confines of Frericks Center.
About the FieldBaylor heads into the third weekend of the season with only one loss to its five wins, including a perfect 3-0 mark at home last weekend. BU's only loss on the season came at the hands of Colorado State and the Bears are led by Katie Staiger with 2.92 kills/set. Cleveland State is 5-2 after two weeks of play as the Vikings went 2-1 last weekend at their home tournament. CSU is led offensively by Christina Toth with 3.55 kills/set and Grace Kauth with 3.39 kills/set., Eastern Illinois heads into the weekend with a 5-2 record and is coming off a 3-1 loss to DePaul on Sept. 5. The Panthers' Chelsea Lee averages 3.11 kills/set.
Series Stuff• In the Flyers' opening match of the Dayton Invitational, UD will square off against Baylor for only the second time in the all-time series. Dayton defeated Baylor, 3-1, on Sept. 4, 2010.
• UD leads the all-time series with EIU, 5-1, including four wins in a row. The Flyers and Panthers last met on Aug. 27, 2005 as Dayton came away with a 3-0 victory.
• Dayton's weekend finalé against Cleveland State will be the 23rd meeting between the intrastate rivals. The Flyers hold a 16-6 advantage in the series but dropped the most recent meeting, 3-1, in Cleveland on Sept. 13, 2014.

Tim Horsmon is in his seventh season overall, and second since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2015. His record at Dayton is 160-53 and his career win-loss mark sits at 336-217 in 17 seasons as a head coach.
• With 13.55 kills/set as a team, Dayton leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 66th among 329 NCAA DI institutions. The Flyers also lead the A-10 in assists/set (12.73) and rank second in the league in hitting percentage (.222) and digs/set (15.23).

• The Flyers finished the 2014 season with a 30-6 overall record and with a 13-1 Atlantic 10, finishing in first place in regular-season league play. 2014 was the program's third 30-win season of the modern-DI era.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 11 times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title a league-record nine times (2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and made their 10th NCAA appearance in program history in 2014.
• Over the last six seasons (2009-2014), the Flyers have recorded a 78-9 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2014, 2011 and 2009.
Moving up the RanksWith 1,099 career kills, senior
Alaina Turner is moving up the ranks in UD's record book. She's just 402 kills away from usurping former Flyer Rachel Krabacher who currently holds the number-five slot with 1,500 kills. Currently in third place on the all-time career digs list, senior
Janna Krafka is only 23 digs away from moving into second place to replace Paige Vargas (1,675).
Erhahon Earns UD's First Weekly AwardSophomore
Amber Erhahon picked up the squad's first A-10 weekly award of the season on Tuesday after being named the league's Defensive Player of the Week. Erhahon averaged 1.40 blocks/set, 1.90 kills/set and 3.05 points/set over the weekend and was named to the Saluki Invitational All-Tournament Team.

UD Picked First in 2015 A-10 Preseason PollDayton has been chosen to finish in first place in the Atlantic 10 for 2015. The Flyers, winners of five of the last six A-10 titles, tallied 88 points in voting among the league's head coaches (including eight of 10 first-place votes). George Washington was selected to finish second.
13th to 1,000With two wins at the 2014 Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,030-561 (.647) over 46 seasons (1970).

2014 Atlantic 10 Coach, Player, Libero and Setter of the Year ...The Flyers claimed four of the five yearly awards given out by the Atlantic 10 as announced by the league office on Nov. 20:
Tim Horsmon - Coach of the Year,
Alaina Turner - Player of the Year,
Janna Krafka - Libero of the Year and
Jane Emmenecker - Setter of the Year. This is the first end-of-the-year award for each student-athlete and the second time coach Horsmon (2005) has been recognized.
Up NextDayton will continue its six-match home stretch with the Flyer Invitational to be held at Frericks Center Sept. 18-19. In addition to UD, the field includes Eastern Michigan, Illinois State and Jacksonville. The Flyers will open up play against the ISU Redbirds on Friday at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
