DAYTON, Ohio – University of Dayton women's golf will open its 2015-16 season at the Northern Kentucky Collegiate Classic hosted by NKU on Sunday, Sept. 13 with play continuing on Monday, Sept. 14. Tee time is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sunday at Elks Run Golf Course in Batavia, Ohio.
NKU is coming off a tie for second place in the YSU Kickoff on Monday, Aug. 31 against Chicago State, Cleveland State, and Youngstown State.
Heading into its 2015-16 season, the Flyer women's golf team returns seven players. This list of returners includes three seniors:
Jacki Berardi,
Amalia Emma and
Mika Suntay. Junior,
Jenna DiPaolo, also returns after posting the team's best stroke average last season with a 79.67. Sophomores
Quinn Atkinson,
Emily Connors, and
Emma Meyers also return for another season of Flyer golf.
Completing the 2015-16 roster for Flyer women's golf are two promising freshmen players.
Austin Palmer from Charlotte, N.C. previously helped lead her high school to three consecutive conference and regional championships, and a state championship in 2012. Following her senior season as captain of her high school team, Palmer was named to the First Team South Meck 8, Second Team South Charlotte and Second Team All-Region.
Megan Pollock also joins the team this season to round out Dayton's roster. Coming to UD from Medina, Ohio, Pollock helped lead her high school team to a Northern Ohio Conference (NOC) Championship her junior season, finishing 2013 ranked fifth in NOC standings, and earned NOC All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons while also being named to the All-County and All-Northeast Ohio Honorable Mention Teams in 2013.
