DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton volleyball team put away visiting Eastern Illinois Saturday afternoon, 3-1 (25-20. 25-16, 24-26, 25-19), in its second match of the 2015 Dayton Invitational. With the win, Dayton improves to 3-5 on the season while Eastern Illinois falls to 5-4 for the year.
STATS OF THE MATCH• Senior
Jill Loiars was swinging at a .432 attack percentage for a career-high-tying 18 kills to lead the Flyers. Senior
Alaina Turner turned in 16 kills to go with 14 digs for the double-double.

Jenna Jendryk was the third Flyer with double-digit kills at 11 as she was swinging at a blistering .529 pace. Sophomore
Jane Emmenecker narrowly missed the double-double with 51 assists and nine digs while also tallying five blocks.

Amber Erhahon led the Flyers at the net with six blocks while also contributing eight kills and two service aces. Senior
Janna Krafka got under a team-high 15 digs for UD.
• Eastern Illinois was led by Taylor Smith with 11 kills while two Panthers passed 15 digs.
• Dayton out-hit Eastern Illinois, .314 to .203, and the Flyers recorded 67 kills to the Panthers' 46. As a team, UD had 9.5 blocks while EIU had 5.5.
SET-BY-SET• Set One: Dayton scored the first two points of the match but Eastern Illinois stayed neck-and-neck with UD through an 11-11 tie. The Panthers were able to take the lead at 12-11 on a Flyer attack error but Dayton answered with a 3-0 spurt to go up, 14-12. Trailing 19-15, Dayton rallied with a 5-0 run to pull ahead, 20-19. An Agu kill capped off another 5-0 Flyer run to end the set as Dayton took the game, 25-20.
• Set Two: The Flyers jumped out to an 8-2 lead to open the second set but the Panthers rallied to within two, 9-7. Dayton rattled off five straight to pull in front, 14-7, and the lead was 11, 21-10, after consecutive Eastern Illinois ball-handling errors. UD pushed forward for a 25-16 win in the second set.
• Set Three: Eastern Illinois scored four straight to take the 8-4 lead early in set three. Dayton battled back to knot the game at 11-11 and was in lead, 17-13, following a kill from sophomore
Jessica Sloan. The second half of the set was much closer as the Panthers took advantage of a late 4-0 run to pull ahead, 23-22. EIU won the third set, 26-24, to remain alive in the match, 2-1.
• Set Four: The score was 5-2 in favor of Dayton in the fourth set but an Eastern Illinois rally turn the tables to give the Panthers the 8-7 lead. It was the Flyers' turn to go on a run and they rattled off seven straight for a 15-10 advantage. UD led by as many as eight points before claiming the 25-19 win in set four to take the match, 3-1.
UP NEXT• The Flyers will close out the Dayton Invitational Saturday night with a 7 p.m. match-up with intrastate rival Cleveland State. All matches will be played at Frericks Center and admission is free.
