DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's soccer team defeated Rhode Island 2-0 at Baujan Field Thursday night which saw driving rain for all 90 minutes of the match. UD's record is now 4-8-3 overall and 2-3-2 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Rams drop to 4-7-4 overall and 1-4-2 in conference action.
STATS OF THE MATCH

Alexis Kiehl assisted on both of the Flyer goals.
• Senior
Meghan Blank scored the first goal of her senior season and the ninth of her career.
• UD out-shot the Rams 18-6, including 15-4 in the first half. Dayton also led 6-2 in corner kicks.

Libby Leedom led Dayton with five shots, including two that hit the crossbar.
• Freshman
Hanna Merritt got her first collegiate start and played all 90 minutes of the match for the Flyers.

Meghan Blank ran onto it and one-time the ball, deflecting off the keeper into the back of the net for the eventual game-winning goal. (Dayton 1, Rhode Island 0).

Caroline Mink for a wide-open, far-post shot past the keeper. It was Mink's second goal of her career. (Dayton 2, Rhode Island 0).
UP NEXT
Dayton will play two games on the road against St. Bonaventure on Oct. 23, and then Duquesne on Oct. 27 before returning back to Baujan Field to close out the season on Oct. 30, against Massachusetts.
