DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team kept its streak alive by downing Duquesne 3-1 (25-21, 16-25, 25-15, 25-20) Sunday at Frericks Center. The Flyers have now won 11 consecutive matches and remain the only unbeaten team in Atlantic 10 play.
Dayton improves to 22-1 on the season and 9-0 in conference action while Duquesne moves to 16-8 overall and 6-3 in league play.
STATS OF THE MATCH
• Junior Jessica Sloan laid down a career-high 22 kills to go with six digs and two blocks. Sophomore Kendyll Brown equaled her career high with 12 kills and she tallied three blocks.
• Sophomore Margo Wolf got under a career-high 36 digs while junior Maggie Schutter also posted double-digit digs with 13.
• Junior Jane Emmenecker set 57 assists to go with six digs and two blocks. Sophomore Lauren Bruns (11) and junior Amber Erhahon (11) were the other two Flyers with double-digit kills.
• Duquesne had two players record 10 kills in Madelynn Burnham and Molly Davet. Davet recorded the match's only double-double with 15 digs.

• Set One: Dayton came out strong in set one, jumping out to a 4-1 lead on Duquesne. The Dukes battled back to even the score at 6-6 but a quick 3-0 spurt put the Flyers back in front, 11-8. UD was up four, 14-10, but DUQ rallied to go up one, 16-15, midway through the set. A Peterson kill evened the set at 19-all and she laid another one down to give Dayton a 21-20 advantage. A Duquesne attack error set up game point at 24-20 and Erhahon scored the set-winning point at 25-21.
• Set Two: It was Duquesne's turn to start strong in the second set, scoring three of the first four points. A Flyer attack error put the Dukes up four, 10-6, and Dayton called for timeout trailing 13-7. DUQ put together a 4-0 spurt to push its lead to nine, 19-10, and the Dukes reached set point at 24-13. Dayton held three times but Duquesne claimed set two, 25-16.
• Set Three: After intermission, the Dukes went ahead 4-1 but the Flyers answered with four-straight points to get in front, 5-4. The two squads saw their fifth tie of the set at 10-10 when Dayton used the strength of back-to-back kills to take a 13-10 lead. The UD advantage was seven at 20-13 and the Flyers were up 10 at set point. Duquesne scored one more point before Dayton won the third set, 25-15.
• Set Four: The fourth set was all Dayton all the way. A UD double block gave the Flyers an early 3-1 lead and a kill from Erhahon set the score at 5-2 in favor of Dayton. The Flyers put together a 7-0 run, capped by back-to-back Sloan kills, to push their advantage to nine, 12-3. A three-point spurt from the Dukes cut into the lead, 12-6, but it was up to nine at 17-8 after an Emmenecker service ace. Dayton reached 20 up five but Duquesne continue to battle. Set point was earned at 24-18 and the Dukes stayed in the game by scoring twice more but the Flyers took the set at 25-20.

Dayton kicks off the week on Wednesday with a road trip to Morehead, Kentucky. UD will square off against Morehead State at Wetherby Gym with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m.
