MOREHEAD, Ky. - The University of Dayton volleyball team defeated Morehead State 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-23), Wednesday night at MSU's Wetherby Gym. The sweep was the Flyers' 13th of the season and the win improves Dayton's streak to 12 consecutive matches.

Dayton improves to 23-1 on the season while Morehead State moves to 9-15 overall.

STATS OF THE MATCH
• Freshman Jamie Peterson was on fire, swinging at .571 and recording 12 kills to zero errors in 21 attempts. She also had four digs and to blocks.
• Junior Jessica Sloan also had 12 kills to go with six digs and three blocks. The third Flyer in double-digit kills was sophomore Lauren Bruns with 10.
• Junior Amber Erhahon tallied seven kills in 11 attempts with no errors for a .636 hitting percentage. She led the Flyer block with six.
• Morehead State was led by Sydney Schuler with 10 kills while two Eagles had 12 digs in Merideth Jewell and Danielle McCarson.

SET-BY-SET
• Set One: Morehead State scored the first point but Dayton rattled off five to go up 5-1 early in set one. The Eagles were within one, 9-8, but the Flyers used a 5-1 run to jump in front, 14-9, following a kill from Sloan. The UD lead was seven at 19-12 after a kill from Erhahon and a MSU attack error set the score at 22-13 in favor of the Flyers. Peterson finished off the Eagles with a kill to end the set at 25-16 Flyers.
• Set Two: The Eagles started the second set with a 4-2 lead when the Flyers used an 8-1 run to take a 10-5 lead. A kill from sophomore Kendyll Brown gave Dayton a 15-8 advantage and the lead was seven at 20-13 following an Erhahon-Sloan block. Morehead State rallied to pull within four at 22-18 but Dayton scored the next two to reach set point. The Eagles held twice but the Flyers won the set, 25-20.
• Set Three: Dayton was trailing 4-3 in the third when a kill from Erhahon kick-started a 4-0 spurt, putting UD in front, 7-4. Morehead State scored five unanswered points to turn the tables and jump ahead, 10-8. An Erhahon-Peterson block put UD up 14-12 and the Flyer lead was two again at 18-16. Dayton reached the 20-point mark on a kill from Bruns and an Erhahon kill earned the team match point at 24-22. The Eagles would score one more before the Flyers took the set, 25-23, and the match, 3-0.

Dayton has a single match at home this weekend against Saint Louis. The Flyers will welcome the Billikens to Frericks Center on Friday with first serve set for 7 p.m. Admission is free.
