DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team will step out of Atlantic 10 Conference action on Wednesday with a mid-week match-up at Morehead State. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at MSU's Wetherby Gym in Morehead, Kentucky.
About Dayton
Dayton (22-1) is currently enjoying an 11-match winning streak heading into Wednesday's non-conference match up against Morehead State. The Flyers remain the only unbeaten team in the Atlantic 10 with a 9-0 mark in league action. UD holds the nation's best win-loss percentage (.957) and the team's only loss this season came at the hands of Loyola Marymount on Sept. 16. Dayton is led by junior

Scouting Morehead State
Morehead State (9-14) is coming off a 3-1 win over Southeast Missouri State on Saturday to improve its Ohio Valley Conference mark to an even 5-5 on the season. The Eagles are led by Merideth Jewel with 3.40 kills/set to go with 3.25 digs/set while Karlee Reynolds is strong at the net with 1.15 blocks/set. Danielle McCarson is the team's leading passer with 3.98 digs/set and Bailey Nichol is MSU's primary setter with 8.28 assists/set.
Series Stuff
The Flyers and Eagles first squared off on Oct. 9, 1976 with Dayton picking up a 2-0 win. UD leads the series against MSU with a slim 12-10 margin. The two squads last faced off on Oct. 14, 2014 (UD 3, MSU 0) but, prior to that they hadn't played since 1997.

In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) posted Monday, Oct. 24, Dayton came in at 33 according to NCAA.com, up one spot from last week. Morehead State is ranked 277th.

Tim Horsmon is in his eighth season overall, and third since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2016. His record at Dayton is 207-56 and his career win-loss mark sits at 383-220 in 18 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is the program's second-winningest coach behind only R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• Over the last eight seasons (2009-2016), the Flyers have recorded a 101-9 (.918) mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2015 and 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2014, 2011 and 2009.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 12 times (2015, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). Behind a career-high 22 kills from junior
Jessica Sloan, Dayton defeated Duquesne, 3-1, Sunday afternoon at Frericks Center. Sophomore
Kendyll Brown was also a top performer in the match, recording 12 kills while swinging at .429 and junior
Jane Emmenecker continued to run the offense with 57 assists. For the game, Dayton posted 64 kills to Duquesne's 42 and the Flyers out-hit the Dukes .213 to .143.

Amber Erhahon has a very efficient swing, currently ranking 10th in all of NCAA DI and second in the A-10 with a .418 hitting percentage this season. For her career, Erhahon's .399 hitting percentage (715-161-1388) ranks number one all-time in the Flyers' record book and ranks seventh nationally among active career leaders.
Moving Up the Ranks
Junior
Jane Emmenecker recently moved into fourth place all-time among Dayton's setters with 3,387 career assists. The two-time Atlantic 10 Setter of the Year is looking to move up the ranks this season and is now 227 assists behind former Flyer and 2006 A-10 Setter of the Year Erin Schroeder who currently ranks third (3,614) in the career assists column.
Hit Me One More Time
Dayton's front court has two very formidable middle blockers in junior
Amber Erhahon (1.03 blocks/set, 7th A-10) and sophomore
Kendyll Brown (1.00 blocks/set, t-8th A-10). What is unique about this duo of blockers is that they are both very accurate on the attack as well. Brown hits at a league-best .449 which ranks fifth nationally while Erhahon swings at .418 (2nd A-10, 10th NCAA).

Dayton head coach
Tim Horsmon currently has 207 wins at the helm of the Flyer program between his two stints (eight total seasons). Horsmon collected 128 wins between 2003 and 2007 and has 79 wins over 2014, 2015 and 2016. He is the second-winningest Dayton coach, behind UD's first head coach R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins (1970-79).
13th to 1,000
With two wins at the 2014 Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,077-564 (.656) over 47 seasons (1970).
Hausfeld Court
Former Flyer Kacie Hausfeld passed away tragically in an airplane crash during her time as a Dayton Flyer. In her memory, her family made a substantial contribution to the Dayton volleyball program. That donation enabled the program to renovate Frericks Center, adding a new public address and sound system, new seating on the event level, new scoreboards and video boards and the playing surface was named "Hausfeld Court" among many other improvements to the facility.

After suffering its only loss of the season on Sept. 16, Dayton has now won 11 consecutive matches heading into Wednesday's game at Morehead State. The 11-game winning streak ranks tied for eighth place (American) in the nation. San Diego has the longest streak at 18 matches.

Wolf and Peterson Honored by A-10
The Atlantic 10 Conference named sophomore
Margo Wolf the Defensive Player of the Week and freshman
Jamie Peterson the Co-Rookie of the Week as announced on Monday, Oct. 24. Wolf continues to lead the Flyers from the back row as the team's libero, starting in all 23 matches this season. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native averaged 7.00 digs per set in two wins for the Flyers over the previous weekend. Peterson, an outside hitter from West Liberty, Ohio, scored 2.21 points per set for the Flyers in two weekend victories. She posted a 1.000 reception percentage while averaging 1.86 kills per set and 0.71 blocks per set for Dayton.

The Flyers return home for a single match this weekend at Frericks Center. Dayton will play host to Saint Louis Friday evening with first serve set for 7 p.m. Admission is free.
