DAYTON HOSTING SAINT LOUIS FRIDAY AT FRERICKS CENTER

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team will play host to Saint Louis Friday night at Frericks Center. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Be sure to wear your favorite Halloween costume - all who arrive dressed in costume will get free ROOSTERS bucks! And, the first 300 fans will receive a free Horsmon's Heroes t-shirt!

About Dayton
Dayton (23-1, 9-0 A-10) has won 12 consecutive matches and all nine of its Atlantic 10 contests heading into Friday evening's contest against Saint Louis, who is currently tied for second place in A-10 standings. The Flyers lead the league in several categories including hitting percentage (.278), assists/ set (13.78) and kills/set (14.65). UD is led by junior Amber Erhahon with 2.94 kills/set (9th A-10), 1.06 blocks/set (7th A-10) and a .423 hitting percentage (2nd A-10, 8th NCAA) along with junior Jessica Sloan with 3.86 kills/set (3rd A-10) and 0.36 aces/set (t-4th A-10). Also for the Flyers, sophomore Kendyll Brown leads the league and ranks sixth in the nation with a .444 hitting percentage while junior Jane Emmenecker also leads the A-10 and ranks 23rd nationally with 11.01 assists/set.

Scouting Saint Louis
Saint Louis (12-12, 7-2 A-10) is currently in a tie for second place (Rhode Island) in A-10 standings, right behind Dayton. The Billikens had a tough start to the season, losing seven of their first eight matches but are now enjoying a four-match winning streak. SLU is also right behind UD in A-10 rankings, sitting in second place in assists/set (12.00) and kills/set (12.87). The Billikens are led by five-time A-10 Player of the Week Danielle Rygelski who leads the league with 5.97 kills/set and is second with 0.45 aces/set.

Series Stuff
Dayton and Saint Louis have previously played 46 times, including a 3-0 by UD in St. Louis earlier this season. The Flyers hold 30-16 advantage over the Billikens in a series that dates back to 1978 and Dayton has won seven consecutive and 15 of the last 16 match-ups.

RPI Rankings
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) posted Monday, Oct. 24, Dayton came in at 33 according to NCAA.com, up one spot from last week. Saint Louis is ranked 100th, the second-highest ranked Atlantic 10 team.

Flyer Facts
• Tim Horsmon is in his eighth season overall, and third since 2007, as head coach of the Flyers in 2016. His record at Dayton is 208-56 and his career win-loss mark sits at 384-220 in 18 seasons as a head coach. Horsmon is the program's second-winningest coach behind only R. Elaine Dreidame who amassed 310 wins 1970-79.
• Over the last eight seasons (2009-2016), the Flyers have recorded a 101-9 (.918) mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2015 and 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2014, 2011 and 2009.
• Dayton has won the Atlantic 10 Regular Season title 12 times (2015, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2001, 1998). The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title a league-record 10 times (2015, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and made their 11th NCAA appearance in program history in 2015.
• Dayton currently ranks in the top five nationally in three categories: first in match win-loss percentage (.958), second in assists/set (13.78) and third in kills/set (14.65). Individually, sophomore Kendyll Brown ranks sixth in the NCAA with a .444 hitting percentage and right behind her is junior Amber Erhahon is in eighth with a .423 percentage.
• The Flyers finished the 2015 season with a 27-6 overall record and a 14-0 Atlantic 10 mark, finishing in first place in regular-season league play. 2015 was the program's 37th winning season.

Last Time Out
Junior Jessica Sloan and freshman Jamie Peterson each contributed 12 kills in Dayton's 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-23) win at Morehead State Wednesday night. Also with double-digit kills was sophomore Lauren Bruns (10) while sophomore Margo Wolf got under a match-high 14 digs. As a team, Dayton posted 45 kills to Morehead State's 38 while the Flyers out-hit the Eagles, .353 to .130.
