FLYERS DRAW WITH DUKES ON SENIOR DAY

DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's soccer team scored a late equalizer against Duquesne on Saturday and held on for the double overtime draw.

The Flyers (6-8-3, 2-3-2 A-10) and the Dukes (8-3-5, 3-1-3 A-10) shared a valuable point as postseason hopes are on the line.

SCORING BREAKDOWN
  • 6th Minute – Dayton 0, Duquesne 1 – A corner kick by Ian Larson landed at the feet of Ryan Landry, who fired home for his second goal of the season.
  • 78th Minute – Dayton 1, Duquesne 1 – Freshman Rok Taneski delivered a set piece to the far post where Kennedy Nwabia was waiting to head it home for his fifth goal of the campaign.

KEY STATS
  • Dayton out-shot Duquesne in the first half 8-5 and matched the Dukes with two attempts on goal. The Flyers finished the game with 20 shots and put seven on target while Duquesne had 11 shots, four on goal.
  • Nwabia led UD with six shots while junior Nick Hagenkord, junior Alvaro Navarro, and senior Rafael Gamboa each added four.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Federico Barrios made three saves in the 110 minutes of work.
