AKRON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's golf team is tied for third place after the first two rounds of the Firestone Invitational hosted by Akron. Dayton posted team rounds of 282 and 285 for a 26-hole total of 567 (-9) and is currently tied with Cincinnati. The two-day event is being played at the North Course at Firestone Country Club and the course will play to 7,125 yards at par 72.
Senior
Nick Paxson leads the Flyers after firing rounds of 71 and 68 (139, -5). Paxson carded seven birdies and one eagle on the day. Juniors
Phillip Johnson and
Brendan Keating each tallied an eagle on the day as well.
