DAYTON FOOTBALL HOSTS MOREHEAD STATE SATURDAY AT 1 PM ET

DAYTON -- The University of Daytonfootball team, 3-2 in 2016, remains at home to take on Morehead State, who is 2-3.  Both teams are 1-1 in the Pioneer Football League.

saturday's game is the football program's annual "Pink" game to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.  A silent auction with the proceeds to benefit the Pink Robbon Girls will be held under the home stands on the west side of the stadium.

Dayton is coming of a 35-10 win over Drake.  Running back Tucker Yinger returned to the starting lineup with a season-high 172 yards. Quarterback Alex Jeske ran for a career-high 92 yards, which was six yards more than he gained in 12 games in 2015.

UD's 22–man senior class includes 15 fifth-year players.  Captains Chris Beaschler, Ian Palin and Shane Toub are all redshirt seniors.

Another fifth-year player, William Will, needs one more field goal to have sole possession of the Dayton career field goal record. Will's 46 FG's ties him with Mike Duvic (1986-89).

GOOD NEWS WORTH REPEATING
The Flyers entered the season with the 4th-best winning percentage (.757, 134-43) in FCS football since 2000 AND have produced the most football Academic All-Americans (23) at any level of competition in the same time frame.  The top five are Harvard (.805), Montana (.766), North Dakota State (.761), Dayton (.757) and San Diego (.705).

STREAKING
UD has not been shut out in a school-record 448 straight games, the best such active string in all of college football. The last team to shut out the Flyers was Marshall, 9-0, on Oct. 16, 1976. That is also the all-time FCS record.

TRAUT FISHING IN AMERICA
• Redshirt freshman Adam Trautman led UD with had five catches for 73 yards and a TD at San Diego.
•Even though he did not appear on the depth chart at the time, he was UD's Offensive Player of the Week vs. USD.
• He also led the Flyers with four catches for 38 yards in the Drake win.
• Trautman is second on the team in passes hauled in (12 for 12.3 avg.)

WILL HE WILL?
William Will has 46 career field goals, tied for the career-best at Dayton with 1989 All-American Mike Duvic.
• Will also ranks third in total points, 58 points behind Duvic's UD-record 326.  Will has scored 84 points in each of the last two seasons.
• In the PFL, Will is third in FG's per game (1.0).
• Will's seven touchbacks are the PFL best.
• Will has scored four of the five ways an offensive player can score in his career.  In addition to the commonplace field goals and PAT's a kicker does, he has two other memorable scoring plays.
• He tried to break the internet in 2014 when he scored a touchdown on a 26-yard scoop-and-score of fumble during a kickoff return.
• At San Diego, he grabbed a blocked PAT out of the air, avoided two rushers and found Gus Madden in the end zone for a two-point PAT.
• Next on the bucket list:  a run for two points.
