The University of Dayton women's soccer team (2-6-2, 0-1-1 A-10) continues Atlantic 10 Conference play this week with a road match at Davidson on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. and returns home for senior day and alumnae day vs. VCU (5-5-1, 1-1-0 A-10) at Baujan Field this Sunday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. The VCU match will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable TV with Alex Mikos on the call. Senior day festivities will be pregame and the alumnae will be recognized at halftime.

Promotions for the VCU vs. Dayton women's soccer match include: Pregame Senior Recognition, and Dunk Tank; Pink T-shirts; rootbeer and pizza handed out by Red Scare; halftime Almunae recognition; and a pink jersey auction for Pink Ribbon Girl; Dayton soccer scarves (must have attended eight UD men's or women's soccer matches and have games punched on card or they can be purchased for $15 each, while supplies last).

THE SERIES vs. DAVIDSON
• The Flyers lead the all-time series 3-0-0 vs. the Wildcats.
• Dayton won the last meeting vs. Davidson, 4-1 at Baujan Field on Oct. 8, 2015.
Alexis Kiehl had a goal and an assist in that match.
Sidney LeRoy also scored a goal.
• The last time the Flyers played the Wildcats in Davidson, N.C. was Oct. 24, 1992, a 4-1 win for the Flyers.
• The Flyers tied Duquesne in the quarterfinals of the A-10 Championship at Davidson's Alumni Stadium last year. The Dukes advanced, 3-2 on PKs, and went on to win the tournament title. Dayton outshot the Dukes 37-10.
It marked the first time since 2006 that Dayton did not advance to the A-10 semifinals.
THE SERIES vs. VCU
• The Flyers lead the all-time series 2-1-3 over the Rams. The Rams won the last outing 3-2 on Oct. 11 in Richmond, Va.
• The last Flyer win over the Rams took place during the 2014 A-10 Quarterfinals with a score of 3-0 on Nov. 6.
• UD is 1-0-2 all-time when playing VCU at home.

SCOUTING DAVIDSON
• Davidson is 4-6-1 overall and 0-1-1 in A-10 action.
• The Wildcats tied La Salle 0-0 in their last outing, and fell 2-1 to VCU in their conference opener.
• Seeley Yoo leads Davidson with three goals and one assist for seven points. Maggie Boyd leads the Wildcats in shots (16).
• Six Wildcats have scored at least two goals.
• Three different players have seen time in goal for Davidson, led by Alex Carpenter who has nine starts, 48 saves (4th in A-10) and a 1.10 GAA (6th in A-10).
SCOUTING VCU
• The Rams play at Fordham on Oct. 6.
• VCU finished 4-4-0 in non-conference play this year and has current A-10 record of 1-1-0.
•VCU was picked to finish third this season in the A-10 Preseason Coaches Poll. Sophomore Julia Suarez was named to the A-10 Preseason Team.
• Suarez leads VCU with five goals. She also has dished out a team-high three assists. Suarez also leads the Rams in points (13), shots on goal (15) and shots (25).
• Four different Rams have scored multiple goals this season.
• Aubrey Sanderson has started 10 games in goal for VCU. She owns a 1. 31 GAA (2nd in the A-10), has 43 saves and one shutout.
TERRIFIC TUCKER
• Flyer Head Coach
Mike Tucker is in his 22nd season at UD and has amassed an overall record of 306-120-32 overall and 163-32-11 vs. A-10 opponents.
• The legendary coach announced he will retire following the 2016 season.
• UD's 3-1 win over Fordham on Oct. 18, 2015 at Baujan Field marked the 300th career victory for Coach
Mike Tucker. He is one of just 17 active coaches to have won 300 matches in NCAA Division I Women's Soccer.
BELIEVIN' IN BAUJAN
• The Flyers are 216-63-21 all-time in games played at Baujan Field. UD owns a .761 winning percentage in those matches. In the last six years, Dayton is 60-11-6 at home, an astounding .821 winning percentage at Baujan.
FLYER SUCCESS
• The Dayton women's soccer program owns an overall record of 430-185-49 since it became a varsity program in 1984.
• The Flyers made NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2014, advancing to the second round in both 2009 and 2010 and to the Sweet Sixteen in 2001.
A-10 HONORS FOR TWO

Kaelyn Johns and George Mason senior Kirsten Glad were named the league's Co-Defensive Players of the Week. Flyer freshman
Madeleine Morrissey was selected as the A-10 Rookie of the Week for games played Sept. 12-18. Johns, a goalkeeper from Downingtown, Pa., had seven saves in a 1-1 double-overtime tie at crosstown rival Wright State at Alumni Field Sunday night. The seven saves, which were made during her 110 minutes in net, were one shy of her career high. Morrissey scored Dayton's lone goal in a 1-1 double-overtime tie versus crosstown rival Wright State Sunday night on the road at Alumni Field. It was the second goal of the season for the midfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio.
FLYERS SPLIT IN CORN COUNTRY
• The Flyers suffered a 3-1 loss to Nebraska (a team receiving votes in the NSCAA national ranking at the time) on Sept. 9.
Alexis Kiehl tied the match with her team-leading fourth goal of the season on an assist from
Libby Leedom. The Cornhuskers scored two unanswered goals for the win. UD bounced back with a 2-1 win over Omaha on Sept. 11.
Sara Robertson scored her first-ever collegiate goal and
Libby Leedom had the game-winner on a corner kick. That was Leedom's third goal scored this season.
Sidney LeRoy had the assist on the game-winner, giving her a team-high three assists this year.
STREAK STOPPER
• The Flyers ended a four-match losing streak with a 3-0 shutout over Purdue (Sept. 4). At that time, it was only the second time the Boilermakers had been shut out this season. The other was a 2-0 loss to then-ranked No. 4 West Virginia.

DAYTON'S A-10 BACKGROUND
• Dayton has won the A-10 Tournament Championship more than any other team in the conference: nine times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014).
• UD has also won or shared 11 Atlantic 10 Regular Season titles (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013). The next closest is Massachusetts with five.
A-10 DEFENSIVE POTW HONOR
Sophomore
Kaelyn Johns was chosen as the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week for Aug. 29 – Sept. 4. She had a career day in Dayton's 3-0 win over Purdue (Sept. 4). The Flyer goalkeeper notched a career-high eight saves versus the Boilermakers in UD's first shutout this season. Prior to this match, Purdue had only been shut out by No. 4 West Virginia this season. Johns played all 90 minutes and made quality saves in the fourth, 34th, 35th, 54th and 72nd minutes. Starting with Johns' diving save at the left post in the 34th minute, the Boilermakers had three shots and four corner kicks in a span of about 90 seconds but were unable to break through.
TOUGH START
• The Flyers started the season with three losses by one goal; including a 2-1 setback at Cincinnati (Aug. 19) in which the Bearcats scored with 14 seconds remaining in the second overtime. The Flyers also lost 2-1 at Ohio (Aug. 21) and vs. Kent State (Aug. 28) at Baujan Field.

• For the eighth consecutive year, the Dayton women's soccer team has been chosen as the Atlantic 10 Conference preseason favorite in a vote conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. The Flyers earned 185 votes and eight first-place votes to take the top spot in the rankings in 2016.
