BRONX, N.Y. - The University of Dayton volleyball team swept Fordham 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-16) Saturday evening at Rose Hill Gym in Atlantic 10 action.
Dayton improves to 18-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference play while Fordham moves to 10-11 overall and an even 3-3 in league action.
STATS OF THE MATCH
• Sophomore Kendyll Brown recorded 12 kills to zero errors in 14 attempts for a blistering .857 hitting percentage. She also tallied four blocks and passed one dig on the night.
• Junior Amber Erhahon was the other Flyer with double-digit kills (10). She also committed zero errors over 13 attempts for a .769 hitting percentage while serving up three aces and recording two blocks.
• Junior Maggie Schutter and sophomore Margo Wolf each got under 13 digs and junior Jane Emmenecker set 28 assists.
• Fordham was led by Olivia Fairchild with 10 kills while Morgan Williams passed 10 digs.

• Set One: Dayton opened the first set with a 4-1 advantage but Fordham remained within three through a 10-6 lead by the Flyers. UD was up five at 12-7 and led by seven at 16-9 following a 4-0 spurt. The Flyer lead was seven again at 20-13 and the Rams were held to only one more point and UD took set one 25-14.
• Set Two: A Fordham attack error set the score at 5-2 in favor of Dayton early in the second set but a 3-0 run by the Rams evened the frame at nine points apiece. The Flyers used a 3-0 run of their own to move back in front, 15-11, and the lead was seven, 21-14, following a kill from Erhahon. The Rams got one more before the Flyers closed out the set ahead, 25-15.
• Set Three: Dayton jumped out to the 7-2 lead to open set three and never looked back. Short-handed Fordham rallied to get within one, 8-6, but a solo block from sophomore Lauren Bruns got UD back in front by five, 12-7. An ace by Sloan pushed the advantage to eight, 19-11, and consecutive Ram attack errors put the Flyers within two of match point, 23-14. Bruns put the nail in the coffin with her kill to give Dayton the 25-16 set win and to close out the match, 3-0.

For the third weekend in a row, Dayton will be on the road this week. UD will travel to Richmond, Virginia, Friday to take on VCU at the Siegel Center. First serve is set for 7 p.m. ET.
