DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton men's golf head coach Gip Hoagland has announced the signing of two newcomers for the 2017-18 season. Connor Quigley (Oakwood/Dayton, Ohio) and Hayden Zimmerer (Christian Academy of Louisville/Louisville, Ky.) will be joining the Flyers next fall.
"I am very excited to bring both Hayden and Connor to the University of Dayton," commented Hoagland. "They both bring a lot of tournament experience and success to our program. Not only are they top-tier players but they are excellent students with great families. They will fit into our program very well."
Quigley has spent his prep career under head coach Tyler Kilburn at Oakwood High School in Dayton, helping lead his team to four consecutive South Western Buckeye League (SWBL) titles. In 2013, the Lumberjacks were crowned the DII State Champions. He earned SWBL Player of the Year in 2014 and has been named to the SWBL First Team all four years. Quigley was co-medalist at the 2015 state tournament after firing a final-round 67 and was named to the DII All-State First Team. In 2013 and 2016, he earned mention on the DII All-State Second Team. Quigley was also a varsity swimmer for all four years and played two seasons of water polo at Oakwood.
Zimmerer earned three varsity letters at Christian Academy of Louisville under the tutelage of CAL head coach, and his father, Greg Zimmerer. In 2015, he was named to the All-Region First Team and the All-Louisville Second Team and earned All-State Second Team accolades in 2016 after finishing fourth at the state championship. Zimmerer also played two seasons of varsity basketball for the Centurions.
