#UDWSOC SHUTS OUT SAINT LOUIS, 3-0 IN A-10 QUARTERFINAL

Alexis Kiehl, Libby Leedom and Beth Kamphaus Netted Goals

KINGSTON, R.I. – The University of Dayton women's soccer team opened up the Atlantic 10 Championships with a bang on Thursday morning, upsetting No. 2 seed Saint Louis 3-0 at the URI Soccer Complex.

STAT OF THE MATCH
• Junior Alexis Kiehl led the Flyers with a goal, an assist and three shots, including two on goal. 
• Senior Libby Leedom scored her sixth goal of the season, giving her the second-most goals and points (15) on the team.
• Sophomore Beth Kamphaus' goal was her first of the 2016 season and third in her career.
• Sophomore goalkeeper Kaelyn Johns had four saves to earn the shutout.
• SLU entered the A-10 Championship tied for the Atlantic 10 lead in shutouts (9), and had only given up three goals one other time on the season.
• The Flyers lead the all-time series 10-2-2 over the Billikens and are unbeaten in the last 11 meetings.
• Prior to this season, the last four Dayton wins over Saint Louis were decided by one goal. The two teams finished at a 1-1, double overtime draw in the 2016 conference opener at Baujan Field (Sept. 29).

DAYTON GOALS
• 29th minute – Dayton's leading scorer and Atlantic 10 First Team member Alexis Kiehl gave the game it's first goal with her 16th goal of the season off an assist from Meghan Blank. (Dayton 1, Saint Louis 0)
• 57th minute – After multiple chances for both teams, the Flyers pushed their advantage to two when A-10 All-Academic midfielder Libby Leedom netted her sixth goal of the season on a perfect pass from freshman Micayla Livingston. (Dayton 2, Saint Louis 0)
• 83rd minute – Beth Kamphaus put the game on ice with her first goal of the season with an assist by Alexis Kiehl. (Dayton 3, Saint Louis 0)
