MUNCIE, Ind. – The University of Dayton baseball team finished off its series at Ball State Sunday with a 3-1 win over the Cardinals.

The Flyers (4-14) picked up their first win over Ball State (11-10) Sunday in the four-game set.

SCORING BREAKDOWN

• Top of 1^st - Dayton jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the top of the first. Glenn Jones and Mark Giesler had a pair of RBI singles to put the Flyers on top. Dayton 2, Ball State 0
• Top of 3^rd – The Flyers added to their lead in the third with an RBI double by Matt Poland. Dayton 3, Ball State 0
• Bottom of 5^th – The Cardinals broke up the shutout with an unearned run in the fifth on a throwing error. Dayton 3, Ball State 1
