DAYTON, Ohio - Dayton volleyball opens the 2016 season with a neutral-site match against Toledo at Wright State's Holiday Inn Invitational on Friday, Aug. 26 at 4 p.m. The Flyers posted a 27-6 overall record while finishing first in the Atlantic 10 with a perfect 14-0 mark. UD lost three starters plus its libero from 2015 but returns two-time A-10 Setter of the Year junior

Amber Erhahon, last season's team leader in hitting percentage (.403 - 1st A-10) and blocks (1.17 - 2nd A-10) and a 2015 AVCA Midwest Region Honorable Mention Team member.
Scouting Toledo
Toledo is under the direction of eighth-year head coach Greg Smith and is coming off a 6-23 season in 2015. The Rockets finished in sixth place in the Mid-American West Division standings with a 3-13 league mark. TOL returns all six starters from last season including the team's kills leader Saige Thomas (2.59 k/s) and the Rockets' leading blocker in Rachel Vidourek (0.83 b/s).
Series Stuff
Toledo and Dayton have meet at total of 13 times with the Flyers holding a slim 7-6 advantage in the series. The two last met in Sept. of 2014 and UD claimed a 3-1 win over TOL at Cleveland State's tournament.
RPI Rankings
At the end of the 2015 season, Dayton held a Rating Percentage Index (RPI) ranking of 22 according to ncaa.com. Toledo finished up last season at 291 in the RPI.

The Flyers have won the A-10 Championship title a league-record 10 times (2015, 2014, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003) and made their 11th NCAA appearance in program history in 2015.
• Over the last seven seasons (2009-2015), the Flyers have recorded a 93-9 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, including a perfect 14-0 mark in 2015 and 2012 and a 15-0 record in 2010. UD suffered only one conference loss in 2014, 2011 and 2009.
13th to 1,000
With two wins at the 2014 Bowling Green Hampton Inn Invitational, Dayton surpassed the 1,000-win mark as a program and is just the 13th NCAA DI team to attain that level of success. The Flyers currently rank 13th all-time in the Division I record book with an overall program tally of 1,055-563 (.652) over 46 seasons (1970).
UD Picked First in 2016 A-10 Preseason Poll
Dayton has been chosen to finish in first place in the Atlantic 10 for 2016. The Flyers, winners of six of the last seven A-10 titles, tallied 83 points in voting among the league's head coaches (including six of 10 first-place votes). Saint Louis tied Dayton with 83 points, including three first-place votes.
2015 Atlantic 10 Coach, Player, Libero and Setter of the Year ...
The Flyers claimed four of the five yearly awards given out by the Atlantic 10 in 2015, for the second-consecutive year:
Tim Horsmon - co-Coach of the Year,
Alaina Turner - Player of the Year,
Janna Krafka - Libero of the Year and
Jane Emmenecker - Setter of the Year. This is the second end-of-the-year award for each student-athlete and the third time coach Horsmon (2005, 2014) has been recognized.
