WILMINGTON, N.C. – The University of Dayton men's soccer team was able to get on the scoresheet, but a late goal sent the Flyers to a 2-1 loss to Marist.
The Flyers (2-4) dropped their final game of the UNCW SpringHill Suites Classic to the undefeated Red Foxes (4-0-1).
SCORING BREAKDOWN
- 50th Minute – Dayton 0, Marist 1 – Michael Lorello scored his first goal of the season to put the Red Foxes ahead.
- 65th Minute – Dayton 1, Marist 1 – Freshman Bennett Lehner tied the game up with his first career goal by putting back the rebounded shot of fellow freshman Rok Taneski.
- 82nd Minute – Dayton 1, Marist 2 – Samad Bounthong put the Red Foxes back on top with a goal in the 82nd minute via a one-on-one breakaway with the keeper.
