CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's cross country team finished third out of 10 teams at the Friendship Invitational in Cedarville, Ohio Saturday.
The Flyers raced individuals that did not compete at the National Catholic Invitational last night. Dayton had four PR's amongst its eight runners, including
Luke Hoover's ninth-place showing. On a windy day in Cedarville, the freshmen followed a great first meet in the
Rich Davis Flyer 5K with another strong performance.
Dayton trailed only host Cedarville and Alabama-Huntsville, but finished ahead of schools such as Taylor and Wright State.

COACH ORDWAY'S COMMENTS
"We had a pretty good meet again today," said head coach
Jason Ordway. "We finished third overall and our goal this weekend was to finish Top 3 in both races and we accomplished that. We were just a couple points out of second at Notre Dame and a couple points out of second today, but the guys gave a really good effort. I think we have a better idea of where we stand, but we are not satisfied at where we are at right now. We are looking to get back to get back to workouts this week so we can be ready for the All-Ohio in two weeks."
UP NEXT
- The Flyers will next compete at the All-Ohio Championship back at Cedarville University on Sept. 30.
