DAYTON TAKES ON BOWLING GREEN TUESDAY

DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's soccer team will travel north to Bowling Green on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. contest with the Falcons.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the week with a 2-4 record overall and an 0-2 road mark. The Flyers have wins over Saint Francis (Pa.) and Belmont this season. Head coach Dennis Currier is in his 12th season at the helm.

The Flyers are averaging 1.00 goal per game while giving up 1.83 goals to opponents. Dayton is out-shooting opposing teams 15.3-11.2 and has 20 more corner kicks than allowed through six games.

Leading the way for the Flyers are freshman Rok Taneski, who has a goal and three assists, and junior Nick Hagenkord, who has a team-high two goals.
 

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Bowling Green heads into Tuesday's contest with a 5-2 record overall and an undefeated home mark of 4-0. The Falcons hold wins over IUPUI, Appalachian State, Marshall, Cleveland State, and Wright State. BGSU's losses have come on the road at Western Illinois and Cincinnati.

Head coach Eric Nichols is in his eighth season in charge of the program, and has the Falcons scoring at a 2.00 goals per game clip. BGSU is holding opponents to 0.57 goals and 13.3 shots each contest.

Pat Flynn is the main offensive threat with three goals and three assists so far, while Joe Sullivan and Chris Brennan both have chipped in three goals each. Jacob Roth is the main facilitator with four assists to go with a goal of his own.
 

SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and Bowling Green have met 26 times in program history with the Flyers winning 11 times and the Falcons winning 15 times. The last time the two teams met was last season in Dayton with the Flyers coming out on top 6-0.  
 

LAST OUTING
The Flyers were supposed to play Fort Wayne at home this past Saturday, but the game was cancelled due to field conditions. Prior to that, Dayton dropped both games at the UNCW Courtyard by Marriott Classic; 3-0 to UNCW and 2-1 to Marist.

The Falcons are coming off a tough 1-0 loss at Cincinnati on Saturday. A goal in the 61st minute by the Bearcats handed BGSU its second loss of the season.
 

UP NEXT
The Flyers will remain on the road, heading to Oakland Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. contest with the Golden Grizzlies.
