CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's cross country team took second place overall in the NCAA Division I race at the All-Ohio Championship Friday in Cedarville. 

Miami (Ohio) won the D-I race with 42 points while Dayton had 47. Ohio State (68) came in third place. 

Sophomore Taylor Vernot led the Flyers with a runner-up finish in a time of 21:28.1. Freshman Chloe Flora (fourth) and junior Grace McDonald (sixth) also finished in the top 10. 

Dayton had three runners PR in the 6k collegiate race: Flora was fourth with a time of 21:46.2; Kassidy Manning was 16th with a time of 22:36.0 and Olivia Hummel was 23rd with a time of 22:56. 1. The Flyers also had three runners PR in the open race: Allison Triskett in 23:50.0, Kaci Bornhorst in 23:57.9 and Alex Curtain in 24:56.5.

"We showed some growth today and also saw that there are areas that need improvement," said UD Director of Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Sarah Haveman. "I'm proud of the way the entire team ran."
