LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Dayton men's cross country team placed 20^th overall at the 2017 NCAA Pre-National meet in Louisville, Ky. Saturday morning.

The Flyers faced off against a loaded field at the meet with numerous regionally and nationally ranked teams on hand.

Dayton set six personal bests on the day, including five in the seeded race.

"We had really good performances on the day. We thought it would be a good day if we finished in the top 20 after finishing 28^th a year ago. It shows how much the program has grown in that short amount of time. We had some big PRs from a couple of different guys. Chris Negri and Spencer Danielson really stepped up for us. JP Flavin moved into the third position he has been eyeing all season with Tyler Adgalanis right behind him. We had a good showing out of our fifth man. Luke Hoover really showed up for us. All in all it was a really good day. We battled as a team and this course runs a little bit quicker. We haven't seen competition this stiff all season and it was good to get out here and mix it up with some of these other big names out here. It was a good day all around and we are looking forward to racing at the conference meet here in two weeks. We have a couple more weeks of training to freshen up a little bit and hopefully have a good showing there."
