DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team fell 1-0 to George Washington Sunday evening at Baujan Field in an Atlantic 10 matchup. 

The Flyers are now 7-8-2 overall and 2-4-2 in the conference play, while the Colonials improve to 10-4-2 and 5-2-1, tied for fourth place in the A-10 standings. 

KEY STATS

• GW scored the lone goal of the match in the 65th minute.
• The Flyers outshot the Colonials, 15-8 and also had more corner kicks, 8-3. 

NOTES

• Dayton honored its five seniors prior to the match: Nicolette Griesinger, Alexis Kiehl, Kaitlynn Kiehl, Sidney LeRoy, and Abby Weigel.
• The match started at 5 p.m., instead of the original slated time of 1 p.m. because of a canceled flight for GW.

It was senior night and an opportunity to honor our senior class, and I thought for a large part we did that. I was happy with the overall effort, happy with the overall quality, and I thought that we dominated the play for large segments of the match. Unfortunately, the margin between winning and losing is very small, and in those finishing moments that change games, they executed better than we did. We had opportunities to notch goals and we did a good job of limiting their opportunities, but moments change the game. One play was the difference.
