TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The University of Dayton men's cross country team ran on a cold day in Indiana and recorded an eighth-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Division I Great Lakes regional meet.

The Flyers had four runners in the Top 43 and recorded their best team finish at the regional meet.

Dayton entered the meet as the No. 12 ranked team in the region, but surpassed that prediction by four spots.

"We were led by one our seniors Tyler Adgalanis. He had a really good day for us as our first man. I am really proud of the way he ran the race. He's just one of those seniors that stepped up to the call when we needed him. He came through in the clutch. Negri, Danielson, and Flavin rounded out our top four. We had an eight-second spread in our top four so that's pretty remarkable that we were all that close. We all just found each other throughout the race and moved up. Terre Haute has an awesome course, one of the best in the country, so it was fun to go there. Even in the cold weather and the wind, we were able to have a good day and work as a pack and have our highest finish ever."
