GREENVILLE, S.C. – The University of Dayton baseball team picked up its first win of the 2017 season, scoring 12 runs on 12 hits and squeaking out a nail-biting 12-11 win over Furman University on Sunday afternoon at Latham Stadium.
KEY MOMENTS
- Dayton trailed early on in the game 4-2 when freshman
Brantley Johnson came through with a two-run single to tie the score. Four batters later, fellow freshman
Tate Hagan launched a three-run homer that put the Flyers ahead for good.
- With only one out in the eighth and an 11-8 lead, senior
Robbie Doring brought back a would-be three-run homer to keep the Flyers in the lead.
