#UDSB TO PLAY FOUR AT UPSTATE CLASSIC

Two-Day Event Split Between Furman and USC Upstate

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will play four games at the Upstate Classic March 3-4. Dayton will square off against Canisius and Furman Friday at Furman's Pepsi Softball Stadium. On Saturday, UD will move over to USC Upstate for another game against Canisius followed by USC Upstate.

About Dayton
Dayton (6-4) has had the last week off but most recently went 3-2 at the 14th Annual Georgia Classic Feb. 17-19 in Athens, Ga. Dayton career doubles record holder senior Gabby Snyder leads the team's offense with a .531 average to go with a team-best 17 hits, including four doubles and one home run. Junior Manda Cash is the squad's No. 1 starter in the circle and holds a 4-2 record to go with a team-high 28 strikeouts.

Scouting Canisius
Canisius (4-5) has also had the past week off after a 2-3 outing at Charlotte's First Pitch Classic Feb. 17-19. Moriah Harris has started all nine games for the Golden Griffins and leads the team with a .429 average while tallying 12 hits, eight runs scored and five RBI. In the circle, Canisius holds a team ERA of 3.60 led by Madi Weathers (2.80 ERA).

Scouting Furman
Furman (8-8) has played its last 11 games at home after opening the season 0-5 at Florida State's Unconquered Invitational. The Paladins are currently enjoying a four-game winning streak heading into this weekend's games. AnnaRose Borrelli is one of three Paladins who has started every game and leads the team with 15 hits and 12 RBI to go with a .313 average. Furman's Lindsey Bert holds a 2.33 ERA with a 5-4 record and has recorded a team-best 39 strikeouts.

Series Stuff
• Friday will be the first meeting between Dayton and Canisius. The two will square off again Saturday morning at USC Upstate.
• Dayton won the only previous meeting between the Paladins and Flyers, 4-3, on March 3, 2013 at the Winthrop Combat Invitational.

There's Your Double
Senior Gabby Snyder is an ace in the circle but she also carries a big bat. After batting her third double on the season Friday against Northern Kentucky, Snyder set a new Dayton career doubles record, a mark previously held by former Flyer Kathleen Maloof - sister of current Flyer Madi Maloof. Snyder now has 45 career doubles.
