#UDBASE SHUTS DOWN BOWLING GREEN IN 3-1 VICTORY

DAYTON – The University of Dayton picked up their seventh win of the season with a win over the Bowling Green Falcons on Tuesday, beating the Falcons 3-1 at Spectrum Stadium.

KEY MOMENT
- After a walk and hit-by-pitch put two runners on, Bowling Green inched closer with an RBI single. 
- With runners on the corners and the go-ahead run at the plate, Jordan Cox caught the Falcons' pinch hitter looking to end the game with the Flyers ahead 3-1.

SCORING BREAKDOWN
Bottom 1  
- With first baseman Tate Hagan batting, a wild pitch from Bowling Green pitcher Damon Egnor brought in Connor Echols and gave the Flyers an early 1-0 lead.

Bottom 2
- An RBI double by sophomore Bailey Montoya brought around Mitch Coughlin from second base and extended the Flyers lead to 2-0.

Bottom 5 
- With two outs, Senior Robby Doring sent a 3-2 pitch sailing over the left field fence to give Dayton a 3-0 lead. 

Top 9
- BGSU attempted to make things interesting in the ninth, plating a run and putting runners on the corners, but freshman Jordan Cox slammed the door shut to preserve the 3-1 win.

KEY STATS
- Freshman Josh Nixon did an excellent job in his first collegiate start. He pitched four innings, gave up three hits, no runs, and no walks.  
- Senior Robby Doring had a great night at the plate. He was 2-2 with a walk and smashed his first home run of the season.
- The Falcons outhit the Flyers 7-6 on the day, but their pitching staff issued six walks while Dayton only allowed one.

UP NEXT
Dayton will open A-10 conference play this weekend when they host the Richmond Spiders for a three-game series. The first of the three games will take place at Spectrum Stadium on Friday, March 24 at 3:00 PM.
