#UDBASE SHUT OUT BY WILLIAM AND MARY

CARY, N.C. – The University of Dayton was shutout for the first time in 2017 on Saturday afternoon, falling to William and Mary 7-0 at the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary, N.C.

KEY MOMENT
- William and Mary set the tone right off the bat, striking out the side in order in Dayton's half of the first inning, then scoring three runs in their half to take a lead they would never give up.

SCORING BREAKDOWN
Bottom 1st
- William & Mary jumped on the board early thanks to a two-run home run from the third batter of the game. The Tribe made it a 3-0 lead with a bases-loaded walk.

Bottom 4th 
- WMU added another run, this time unearned, on an infield single and error combination to put the score at 4-0.

Bottom 5th
- The Tribe added a pair of runs thanks to three hits and a Flyer error, making the score 6-0.

Bottom 7th 
- William and Mary brought the score to its final of 7-0 with a solo home run in the home half of the seventh.
