#UDBASE FALLS FLAT AGAINST GEORGE MASON ON FRIDAY

DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team fell to Atlantic 10 opponent George Mason, 7-1, on Friday afternoon at Spectrum Stadium.

The Flyers and Patriots will play two games on Saturday to conclude the series because of the poor weather predicted for Sunday. The two will start the double header at Spectrum Stadium at 12 p.m.

KEY MOMENT
- George Mason put distance between themselves and Dayton with a four-run third inning, getting four base hits that drove in four separate runs, and effectively put the game out of reach. 

SCORING BREAKDOWN
Top 1st
- George Mason jumped ahead early thanks to two perfectly-hit singles and a sacrifice fly, putting the Patriots up 1-0.

Top 3rd 
- Mason increased its lead with a four-run frame, slapping four RBI hits to take a 5-0 advantage.

- The Patriots took advantage of a leadoff hit-by-pitch and plated another run to push their lead to 6-0.

- George Mason tacked on another run thanks to three singles, making the score 7-0.

- Freshman Tyler Jones pitched three scoreless innings, allowing five hits while walking one and striking out one.
- Senior Nick Ryan returned to the lineup after a nine game hiatus due to injury, going 2-for-4 with two singles. He was the only Flyer to record a multi-hit game on Friday.
- Senior Brad Burkhart went 0-for-4, snapping a seven game hitting streak.
