NORMAL, Ill. – The University of Dayton came up short in the series finale against Illinois State on Sunday afternoon, falling 7-2 at Duffy Bass Field.

- With two on and one out in the third, Dayton looked to have a strikeout and caught stealing that would end the inning, but instead, the baserunner was ruled safe. The next batter hit a two-run single that tied the game, and a batter later the go-ahead run came across for Illinois State.
