PHILADELPHIA – The University of Dayton baseball team was held in check in its doubleheader against Saint Joseph's on Friday afternoon, falling in Game One, 4-1 and then in Game Two, 7-1 at Smithson Field.

GAME ONE – Saint Joseph's 4  Dayton 1
KEY MOMENT
- Saint Joseph starter Tim Brennan was dominant in the double header opener, tossing a complete game and striking out seven batters while not walking anyone.

Bottom 2nd
- Saint Joseph's hit a towering home run to take and early 1-0 lead.

Bottom 3rd 
- The Hawks made their lead 4-0 with a three-run frame, highlighted by another SJU home run.

Top 4th 
- Dayton redshirt freshman Brandon Smith launched his 10th home run of the season to bring the score to 4-1.

GAME TWO – Saint Joseph's 7  Dayton 1
KEY MOMENT
- The Hawks erupted for five runs in the fourth inning to go ahead 6-0, effectively putting the game out of reach early in the nightcap.

SCORING BREAKDOWN
Bottom 1st 
- Saint Joseph's started the scoring in Game Two by plating an unearned run to go up 1-0.

Bottom 4th 
- The Hawks exploded for five runs on six hits to put the game 6-0.

Top 5th 
- Senior Nick Ryan launched his fourth home run of the season to get Dayton on the board and make it 6-1.

Bottom 7th
- SJU tacked on one more run for good measure with an RBI triple that brought the score to its final of 7-1.
