DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team mounted an epic rally in the eighth inning to topple VCU, 7-6, on Sunday afternoon at Spectrum Stadium.

- The Flyers went back in front thanks to Coughlin's hustle on a wild pitch, scoring from third to put UD ahead 2-1.

- Coughlin struck again to put Dayton ahead 3-1, reaching on an error, stealing second, and coming home on a single by Ryan.

- VCU inched a run closer thanks to a solo home run that made it 3-2.

- The Rams didn't go quietly in the final frame, hitting a solo home run to cut the deficit in half, but they would get no closer than 7-6.

- The Flyers have now won back-to-back Atlantic 10 series for the first time since the 2014 season.
- After getting the save in Saturday's UD win, junior
Peter Rozman earned his second win of the campaign with his two innings of one-run work.
- Dayton's offense finished with 11 hits in the game, with
Mitch Coughlin,
Connor Echols and
Bailey Montoya turning in two-hit performances.
- Coughlin accounted for the first three Flyer runs and drove home a fourth to help the Flyers to the victory.
