• The University of Dayton women's soccer team (1-2-0, 0-0-0 A-10) will host Marshall (0-3-0, 0-0-0 C-USA) this Friday, Sept. 1 at 2:30 p.m. The game time has been changed due to possible inclement weather from Hurricane Harvey.

• The match will be streamed on the A-10 Network (free) with Lee Mowen on the call.
• The Flyers then hit the road to take on Purdue (2-1-0, 0-0-0 Big 10) this Sunday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. at Folk Field.

DAYTON WINS HOME OPENER
• Senior
Sidney LeRoy had a goal and an assist, and
Sara Robertson and
Alexis Kiehl each scored to give Dayton a 3-0 win over Saint Francis in the Flyers' home opener, Sunday, Aug. 27. Goalkeeper
Kaelyn Johns also posted her first shutout of the season.
FLYERS START 2017 SEASON 0-2-0
• Dayton opened the season with a heartbreaking 3-2 overtime loss at East Carolina.
Caroline Mink and
Micayla Livingston scored goals for UD.
Kaelyn Johns recorded eight saves, tying her career high.
• The Flyers also dropped a 2-0 decision at UNCW.
THE SERIES
• The Flyers are 1-0 in the all-time series vs. Marshall. UD won the lone meeting 3-0 at home on Sept. 5, 2003.
• Dayton is 3-0 vs. Purdue all-time. The last meeting was last year, Sept. 4, 2016 at Baujan.

SCOUTING MARSHALL
• Marshall is in search of its first win, suffering a 4-1 loss at Tennessee-Martin, a 2-0 loss against Murray State, and a 2-1 OT setback versus Longwood in their first two weekends of action.
• Freshman Mary Lawman and junior Ashley Seltzer have each scored one goal for the Herd this season.
• Marshall finished 6-7-4 overall last season.
• Marshall fell 3-2 the last time they played the Flyers, in an exhibition match played last August.
SCOUTING PURDUE
• Purdue is 2-1-0 this season with wins over Kent State (2-1) and Indiana State (6-0) and a 2-1 loss to Loyola Marymount, all at home.
• The Boilermakers take on the DePaul Blue Demons Friday before facing the Flyers at Folk Field.
• Freshman Hannah Melchiorre leads Purdue in points (6) with two goals and two assists. Senior Andrea Petrina has also notched two goals. Redshirt Senior Maddy Williams leads Purdue with three assists.
• Freshman goalkeeper Katie Luce has a 1.06 GAA and 11 saves to her credit.
• Team captains Vanessa Korolas, Andrea Petrina and Maddy Williams were named to the Big Ten's preseason honors list.
FLYER QUICK HITS
• UD had a 9-10-3 overall record in 2016 and was 4-4-2 in the Atlantic 10, earning the No. 7 seed in the tournament. Dayton went on to win the A-10 tournament title.
• Dayton returns nine starters and 71.4 percent of its scoring from a year ago, led by
Alexis Kiehl's 21 goals.
• The Flyers have made 10 NCAA Tournament appearances in program history: 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, and 2016. UD advanced to the second round in both 2009 and 2010 and to the Sweet Sixteen in 2001. The Flyers lost 3-2 to No. 24 Ohio State in the NCAA First Round in Columbus last year.

A-10 CHAMPS AGAIN
• The Flyers won the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship in convincing fashion. Dayton outscored opponents 12-0 in three matches.

MAC HERMANN TROPHY WATCH
•
Alexis Kiehl was among the 30 women selected by the United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA) and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) to the 2017 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch Lists. The MAC Hermann Trophy is the highest individual award in intercollegiate soccer.
• She is the only representative from the Atlantic 10 on the list of standout student-athletes.
• Kiehl, a forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, is coming off a phenomenal season. She led the Flyers with 21 goals and six assists for a total of 48 points.
• Her 21 goals tied for first in NCAA Division I Women's Soccer in 2016. It's also the fourth-best, single-season effort in UD women's soccer history.
• She was a 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-East Region First Team and a 2016 NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team selection.
PICKED TO WIN IT ALL
• For the ninth consecutive year, the University of Dayton women's soccer team has been chosen as the Atlantic 10 Conference preseason favorite in a vote conducted by the league's 14 head coaches. Senior forward
Alexis Kiehl was named to the A-10 Preseason team for the third consecutive year and junior defender
Nadia Pestell was also selected to the all-conference preseason team.
• The Flyers earned 179 points and nine first-place votes. Saint Louis was not far behind with 172 points and four first-place votes.
KIEHL THE SCORING MACHINE
• Two-time First Team All-Atlantic 10 forward (2015 & 2016)
Alexis Kiehl accounted for 21 of UD's 41 goals scored last season.
She is fourth all-time at UD for goals in a single season, ahead of three-time All-American Colleen Wiliams '12 and UD's all-time leading goal scorer Ashley Campbell '15 who scored 18 in a season.
• She tied for first in the nation in NCAA DI women's soccer for total goals scored and second for total points.
• Kiehl scored multiple goals in five matches in 2016: 4 vs. Davidson; 2 vs. St. Bonaventure; 3 vs. UMass; 2 vs. George Washington; and 2 vs. Saint Joseph's.
• She scored a career-high four goals (14th, 30th, 54th, 55th minutes), in Dayton's 5-0 shutout of Davidson Oct. 6, at Alumni Soccer Stadium. She became the first player UD history to score four goals in one match.
• She was named the NSCAA Division I College Player of the Week and TopDrawer Soccer National Player of the Week after leading Dayton to the A-10 title with a conference-record for points (12) and goals (5).

Kaelyn Johns started every game in goal as a freshman. She finished her rookie year with 79 saves.
• As a sophomore she had seven shutouts and was a two-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Week. She finished with 84 saves and a 1.07 GAA.

• Dayton's freshmen have a history of making an impact.
• The Flyers have had at least one representative on the A-10 All-Rookie team every year since it started in 2000.

Caroline Mink were both named to the 2016 A-10 All-Rookie Team.

Beth Kamphaus was named to the All-Rookie team in 2015 after coming on strong in conference play.

Kaelyn Johns started every match in goal for the Flyers in 2015.

Nadia Pestell started 19 matches for the Flyers on defense and logged 1,474 minutes in 2015. She played for the U-17 Canadian National Team and won a silver medal at the CONCACAF Women's U17 Championships in Jamaica.
• In 2014,
Alexis Kiehl and
Nicolette Griesinger were both named to the A-10 All-Rookie team. Kiehl was the third-leading scorer for the Flyers and Griesinger started every match and led UD in minutes played with 2,135.
