Rossi And Vernot Record Top 5 Marks At Kentucky Invite

The Flyers Had 15 PRs For The Second Consecutive Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Dayton track team concluded action at the Kentucky Invitational today.

 Coach Jason Ordway's Quote
•    "Our highlights of the meet wereTaylor Vernot and Jenni Rossi both moving up on UD's all-time record list. We had a really good meet all around. Our distance crew really stepped up today. Taylor placed fourth in the 3K and Nicole Steinbicker took 32 seconds off her PR and won her heat, which really helped her move up. Top to bottom, we had a more all-around group compete than we did at Ohio State. We have a better idea where we stand; where our strengths are and where our weaknesses are, and what we need to work on in the next couple of weeks to make sure we are sharpening up at the right time for conference and postseason. This was a positive team effort. We're looking forward to racing at Indiana in a very high-profile meet."

Highlights
•    All four Flyers in the 3000-meter run posted personal best times. Junior Taylor Vernot placed fourth; her time of 9:48.41 is the third-fastest in program history. Senior Nicole Steinbicker finished in 10:02.47, more than 30 seconds off her previous PR.
•    Senior Jenni Rossi took third place in the weight throw; her mark of 19.15 is the fourth best in UD program history. Alyssa Ramstetter and Taylor Flight also had PRs.
•    In all, there were 15 Flyer PRs at the Kentucky Invitational.
