Bridges-Butler And Rossi Set Top 5 Marks At Buckeye Classic

15 Flyer PRs Set At The One-Day Meet Hosted By Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Dayton track team set 15 PRs, while freshman Jahmia Bridges-Butler and senior Jenni Rossi had UD all-time top five marks at the Buckeye Classic hosted by Ohio State Friday.

 Coach Jason Ordway's Quote
•    "We had a very productive day. It was a good first meet back for all of us. We found out we're in a really good spot in terms of sprints, throws, and jumps; everyone looked good and we are confident, but we still have some work to do and we found there are aspects of our training we need to step up. This was a good starting point. We're feeling positive and really looking forward to racing at Kentucky next weekend. Jahmia had a really good day for us and really came on strong in the finals to get a UD top time in the 60-meter hurdles. Jenn Rossi and Alyssa Ramstetter improved on their weight throws, which they were already pretty good at that event, so solidified their position. We're getting back to that united team approach where every event group steps up. We're looking forward to getting the rest of the team back on campus next week."

Highlights
•    Jahmia Bridges-Butler ran the third-fastest time in UD program history in the 60-meter hurdles, taking third place in a time of 8.83, improving on her time from the prelims.
•    Senior Jenni Rossi took second place in the weight throw; her mark of 18.66 is the fifth best in UD program history.
•    Marie Harla and Jamie Rachek equaled their PR by clearing 1.60m in the high jump. Rachek took second place and Harla finished fourth.
•    In all, there were 15 Flyer PRs at the Buckeye Classic.
