PINEHURST, N.C. - The University of Dayton men's golf team is in second place after its first round of play at the 2018 Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The Flyers posted a team score of 298 (+14) and is just one stroke behind the leader, Ball State (297). Senior Tripp French leads the team with his one-over-par round of 72 (t-2nd).

Ball State's Michael VanDeventer carded the tournament's low round of the day with his even-par round (71).
