DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will play host to cross-town rival Wright State Wednesday for a single game at UD Softball Stadium. First pitch between the Flyers and Raiders is set for 4:30 p.m.

About Dayton
Dayton (16-19, 7-4 A-10) has won three straight and seven of its last eight games heading into Wednesday's non-conference contest against Wright State. The Flyers are currently in fourth place in Atlantic 10 standings and UD ranks second in the league as a team with 35 stolen bases. Dayton's offense is led by junior Kyle Davidson with a .368 average (7th A-10) that includes 39 hits (t-5th A-10), 11 of which are doubles (t-2nd A-10), and she is a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen bases (t-7th A-10). In the circle, senior Manda Cash holds the A-10's low ERA of 1.56 and she has tallied 90 strikeouts (t-2nd) to lead the Flyers' pitching staff.

Scouting Wright State
Wright State (12-20, 6-5 Horizon) is coming off a doubleheader win over Horizon League foe Detroit Mercy on Saturday, 9-0 and 5-1, in Detroit. The Raiders are currently tied with IUPUI for second place in league standings. Honnah Susor leads the WSU offense with a .333 average and team-high 31 hits (5th HL) and she has also stolen a Horizon-best 22 bases. In the circle for Wright State, Ashley Sharp carries the team low ERA of 2.72 (3rd HL) and she has recorded 66 strikeouts (3rd HL).

Series Stuff
One of Dayton's most-played opponents, WSU and UD have previously squared off 90 times in the series between the two. Wright State holds a 54-34-1 lead in the series and had won six straight meetings before Dayton picked up a 13-4 five-inning win earlier this season at WSU Softball Field.

RPI Rankings
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2018 season, released April 8, Dayton came in at 206 (up 11 spots from last week) according to NCAA.com. Wright State ranked 216.

Star in the Circle
Senior Manda Cash, the 2016 A-10 Pitcher of the Year, has already made her mark on the Dayton record book and continues to climb the rankings. She  became Dayton's all-time career strikeouts leader on the first day of the 2018 season and now has 644 career strikeouts. Additionally, Cash's 3.90 strikeout-to-walk ratio is the all-time best career average and her career ERA of 1.86 ranks tied for third and 46 career wins ranks fourth all-time in program history.

Walk This Way
Senior Kailee Budicin has taken a base on balls 14 times (t-9th A-10) this season and has tallied 64 walks for her career, which ranks fifth all-time in program history.

Catch Me If You Can
As a team, Dayton is 35-for-42 in stolen bases on the season - the 35 stolen bases rankes second in the Atlantic 10. Junior Kyle Davidson's eight stolen bases this season ranks tied for seventh in the A-10 and freshman Briley Sidor has seven stolen bases (t-10th A-10). Juniors Kelly Fitzgerald and Lisa Tassi each have five.

You Look Familiar
Senior infielder Kailee Budicin has played in 186 games with 183 starts as a Flyer. She is on pace to shoot up through the Dayton top 10 list for career games played this season with the possibility of setting a new program record. The current record holder, Natalie Mariano (2012-15) played in 203 career games. Of note: Budicin has started in 176 consecutive games for the Flyers.

Bring Me Home
Freshman Abby Ehrenborg leads the team and is seventh in the A-10 with 28 RBI this season. Ehrenborg has posted eight multiple RBI games in 2018 including five RBI at Wright State on March 15.
