#UDSB Stepping Out Of Conference For Single Game At Purdue

Flyers and Boilermakers to Square Off at 5 p.m. Wednesday

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will step out of conference play Wednesday for a single game at Purdue. First pitch between the Flyers and the Boilermakers is set for 5 p.m. at Purdue's Bittinger Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana.

About Dayton
Dayton (20-19, 10-4 A-10) is currently enjoying a seven-game winning streak and is in third place in Atlantic 10 standings. As a team, the Flyers have recorded 38 stolen bases on the season which is second-most in the Atlantic 10 while the UD pitching corps holds a team ERA of 3.02 (3rd A-10). Dayton's offense is led by junior Kyle Davidson with a .347 average (10th A-10) that includes a team-best 41 hits (7th A-10) and 13 doubles (t-1st A-10). In the circle, current A-10 Pitcher of the Week senior Manda Cash boasts the team's low ERA of 1.34 (1st A-10, 28th NCAA) and has tallied 108 strikeouts (1st A-10).

Scouting Purdue
Purdue (11-31, 3-8 Big Ten) dropped a doubleheader at Nebraska this past weekend and is set to host Fort Wayne Tuesday before welcoming Dayton to West Lafayette on Wednesday. The Boilermakers have performed well at home this season as Purdue is hitting .327 as a team with seven players hitting .333 or better at Bittinger Stadium. Jenny Behan leads Purdue this season with a .319 batting average and Kaitlynn Moody holds the team's low ERA of 4.17.

Series Stuff
Purdue has won all five previous meetings between the Boilermakers and Flyers. Dayton dropped a doubleheader at home to Purdue, 2-1 and 6-1, on April 28, 2004 in the last match-up between the two programs.

RPI Rankings
In the NCAA's most recent Rating Percentage Index (RPI) for the 2018 season, released April 15, Dayton came in at 186 (up 20 spots from last week) according to NCAA.com. Purdue ranked 173.

Star in the Circle
Senior Manda Cash, the 2016 A-10 Pitcher of the Year, has already made her mark on the Dayton record book and continues to climb the rankings. She  became Dayton's all-time career strikeouts leader on the first day of the 2018 season and now has 662 career strikeouts. Additionally, Cash's 3.92 strikeout-to-walk ratio is the all-time best career average and her career ERA of 1.81 ranks third and 48 career wins ranks fourth all-time in program history.

Walk This Way
Senior Kailee Budicin has taken a base on balls 15 times (t-10th A-10) this season and has tallied 65 walks for her career, which ranks fifth all-time in program history.

Catch Me If You Can
As a team, Dayton is 38-for-45 in stolen bases on the season - the 38 stolen bases rankes second in the Atlantic 10. Freshman Briley Sidor leads the Flyers with nine stolen bases (t-7th). Junior Kyle Davidson ranks tied for ninth in the A-10 with eight stolen bases while juniors Lisa Tassi and Kelly Fitzgerald have six and five apiece respectively.
