DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team is hitting the road Friday for a three-game Atlantic 10 series at George Mason this weekend. The Flyers and Patriots will kick off the series with a 12 p.m. doubleheader Saturday followed by a single game Sunday, also at 12 p.m., at George Mason Softball Complex. Sunday's game will be video streamed live via A10Network.com.

Dayton (25-20, 12-5 A-10) enters the weekend with a four-game winning streak and the Flyers picked up a 2-1 Atlantic 10 series win over the George Washington Colonials last week. Scouting George Mason
George Mason (19-24, 9-8 A-10) had its mid-week doubleheader at Mount St. Mary's (Md.) canceled on Wednesday but the Patriots claimed a three-game sweep of La Salle in Philadelphia last weekend. Mason is in fourth place in A-10 team standings, one game ahead of George Washington. Jess Curbeira carries the team's best average of .316 with 42 hits and 12 doubles (t-7th A-10). In the circle for the Patriots, Marina Vitalich (2-3) holds the team's low ERA of 2.37 over 41.1 innings pitched while Bekah Ansbro (8-8) has tallied a team-best 91 strikeouts (5th A-10).
Series Stuff
Dayton holds a 7-5 advantage over George Mason in the all-time series between the two programs. The two last met on May 10, 2017 in the Atlantic 10 Championship when the Patriots outlasted the Flyers 6-5 on their home field.
