HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Behind a career-low round of 66 from senior
Jake Gilkison, the University of Dayton men's golf team surged three spots to finish tied for third place at the 2018 Joe Feaganes Invitational hosted by Marshall. The Flyers posted a team score of 280-280=560 (-8) and tied with Atlantic 10 foe Davidson.
Wichita State claimed the team title with its score of 267-282=549 (-19) and the Shockers' Zac Owens was the tournament medalist with a score of 66-68=134 (-8). Eastern Kentucky was the second place team at 13 under par (555). The two-day, 36-hole event was held at Guyan Golf and Country Club. The course was played at par 71 and 6,573 yards.

Dayton will head west to take part in the Golfweek Conference Challenge Sept. 16-18. Hosted by Iowa, the three-day event will take place at Cedar Rapids Country Club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
