JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The University of Dayton men's soccer team scored a pair of goals in the second half to defeat East Tennessee State Tuesday.

The Flyers (3-1-2) get back in the win column with a well-earned victory while the Bucs (2-4-0) end their two-game winning streak.

KEY STATS

• There was an hour weather delay before the game as the contest started at 8:05 p.m. ET.
• In the 63^rd minute, freshman Jake Feiner ripped a shot at the start of the 18-yard box, hitting the far post, where it bounced to a waiting Jonas Fjeldberg for the finish.
• It was Fjeldberg's first goal of the season and Feiner's first assist of his career.
• Junior Laurel Aug scored his first in a Dayton uniform in the 71^st minute, doubling the Flyers' lead.
• Goalkeeper Federico Barrios recorded a season-high six saves with the defense of Cole Watkins, David Lianes, and Isaac Mensah earning their fourth shutout of the season.
• Freshman Andrew Cross led the Flyers with three shots while Fjeldberg had two, both on goal.
• Dayton was outshot for the second time this season (vs Furman 8/26/18), 16-12, but both teams put six on target.
• UD benefited from an 8-1 corner kick advantage.

COACH'S COMMENTS
"The team responded very well tonight against a very tough opponent," said head coach Dennis Currier. "We controlled the tempo of the game for the majority of the match and were rewarded for the relentless effort with two good goals. The defense was excellent again and earned another shut out. It was a good team win."
