DAYTON - University of Dayton men's golf head coach
Gip Hoagland has been named Southern Ohio PGA's Assistant Member of the Year as announced by the organization on Sept. 10. Hoagland, along with all other 2018 honorees, will be recognized at SOPGA's Fall Awards Dinner on Oct. 28.
The SOPGA recognizes the PGA Member Assistant of the Year for their growth in their development as a golf professional as well as commitment to a career in the PGA. Criteria for these awards are based on: 1) overall performance as an assistant golf professional; 2) services to the Section, Chapter or Association; 3) leadership ability and; 4) promotion of golf.
Hoagland, a Class A PGA Professional, also serves as Assistant Golf Professional and Director of Instruction at Dayton Country Club in addition to his duties as Dayton men's golf head coach. In 2005 he was named the Southern Ohio PGA Apprentice of the Year.
