SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Dayton men's cross country team finished up competition at the Joe Piane Meet on Friday at Notre Dame.

The Flyers placed sixth overall in the blue race amongst a loaded field and beat numerous regionally ranked programs like Temple, Iowa, Illinois State, Oklahoma, Utah Valley, Florida State, California, and Miami (Ohio).

Dayton had five PR's in the blue race and five more in the open race.

COACH'S COMMENTS
"We had a very strong showing today at the Joe Piane Invitational," said head coach Jason Ordway. "Chris Negri stepped up as our top finisher along with Spencer Danielson and JP Flavin. This was a very competitive field and we put ourselves in a great position heading into the Pre-National meet in two weeks. The team is getting better each week and we still have a lot of sharpening to do before we get to the post season, but I'm feeling really good about where we're at right now."
