BELLBROOK, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's golf team defeated Ball State, 312 (+28) to 330 (+46), Monday evening in Dayton's Flyer Challenge. The 18-hole match was played at Sugar Valley Golf Club.

Dayton's Alissa Danielson earned medalist honors with her event-low-round of 74 (+3).

"I'm so thrilled to win our first competition of the season," commented head coach Sally Kosters following play. "Winning, especially head-to-head against a tough opponent is a great start. Ali Danielson's 74 was a great number on a sometimes tricky and difficult course. The team is really pumped up for a great year!"

UP NEXT
Dayton will take a short trip south to Batavia, Ohio, to take part in the NKU Collegiate Classic. Northern Kentucky is hosting the two-day event at Elks Run Golf Course Sept. 10-11 with a shotgun start Monday.
